Peninsula Papagayo

began over 25 years ago to transform the coastline in the northwest corner of Costa Rica’s Guanacaste province into an environmentally sensitive luxury resort community.  2,300 acre coastal paradise.  Master plan says 70% of the 2,300 acres will remain open space.

It is the first environmentally sound luxury resort and real estate project in Costa Rica.  It has an exceptional sensitivity to the ecosystem that makes all the beauty possible.  The 2,300-acre residential community is spread across twin peninsula along Costa Rica's stunning Pacific coast in the northwest province of Guanacaste.  It is dedicated to striking the perfect balance between nature and eco-friendly development.  Of the 2,300 acres, 70% of the land will remain as existing forest and only 30% will be developed for roads and buildings.  Protected areas include two forest reserves - 17 acres and 62 acres - and two architectural 12-acre reserves.

The first phase of Peninsula Papagayo included a 153 room Four Seasons Resort, a private 18-hole Arnold Palmer Signature golf course, golf clubhouse with restaurant and lounge., general store, and 38,000 square foot Prieta Beach Club and Spa.

We loved the beach club and were there every day!
